CLUB HISTORY

The Warringah Warriors Baseball Club was founded by Ken McDermott in 1980.

Our club has an illustrious history in the Manly Warringah Winter Baseball Association (MWWBA). Whilst winning a B grade championship in the 80’s, the Warriors have moved on to be a major force in the MWWBA’s renamed 1st grade, making every Grand Final for the last 10 years and winning the Premiership in 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

Recent years have seen our ranks swell with the addition of a Women’s team in 2003-04 and a second Women’s team in 2004-05. The highlight of our Women’s team has been the emergence of the first two Warriors to play for Australia. Rebecca Cosstick was named to the Women’s World Cup team that went to Japan this year, whilst Katie Gaynor travelled to Edmonton, Canada to play in the first Women’s World Championship.
